David Rutledge, 85, of Red Oak, VA, passed away on July 24, 2012. He was born on July 19, 1927 to the late Henry and Lelia Rutledge. He is survived by one daughter, Debbie Lewis and husband Greg of Red Oak, VA, one son, Donnie Wayne Rutledge of Red Oak, VA, one brother, Billy Rutledge of Red Oak, VA, six grandchildren, Shannon Rutledge, David Wayne Rutledge, Brandon Rutledge, Brandy Rutledge, Courtney Lewis, and Emily Lewis, and one great-grandchild, Kandace Jean Rutledge. He is predeceased by his wife, Jean Rutledge, three brothers, Tom Rutledge, Johnny Rutledge, and Daniel Rutledge and three sisters, Sarah Toombs, Mollie Foster, and Fannie Edgerton. He was a WWII Army Veteran. He loved his family and enjoyed cattle farming. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 26, 2012 from 7 until 8:30 p.m. at Newcomb Allgood Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, July 27, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Public Fork Christian Church.
