Peggy Margaret “Nana” McGinnis, 70, of Chase City, Virginia, passed away on May 2, 2013. She was born on March 16, 1943 in Woodbury, New Jersey. She was devoted to her children and very involved with the lives and activities of her grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Harold McGinnis of Chase City, Va, her father, Malcolm Hagan Sr., mother, Margaret Hagan, and brother, "Sonny" Malcolm Hagan Jr. all of New Jersey. She is survived by her children, Frankie Reese of Skipwith, VA, Kim Reese Bannister of Chase City, VA, Johnny Reese and Page of Randolph, VA, Darryl McGinnis of Blackstone, VA, Sonny Reese and Pam of Chase City, VA, Robin Reese Jones of Chase City, VA, Robbin McGinnis of Skipwith, VA, and Billy Reese and Chrystal of Nathalie, VA; one sister, Joan Brickner of New Jersey; her grandchildren, Robert, Daron, Daniele, John-John and Marisel, Jessica, Kimberly, Devin and Justin, Samantha, Sonnie Lynn, Cathy, Kristy, Patrick, John Dakota, Ashley, Kaylin, Jannie, Alexus, and Dalton; her great-grandchildren, Gabby, Bella, Tristan Conner “T.C.,” Vince, Emily, Ava, and Mason; her beloved pet, Amber; a sister-in-law, Donna Hagan of New Jersey; numerous nieces and nephews; and her special and devoted friends, Darlene Ellis and Edith Hoyle. Mrs. McGinnis was a retired Registered Nurse from South Hill Community Memorial Hospital, and a volunteer for Southside Medical Reserve Corps, VDH. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, May 5, 2013 at Newcomb Allgood Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Woodland Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mecklenburg County Cancer Association,P.O. Box 383, South Hill, VA 23970 or donations can be dropped of at Four Seasons Flower Shop.
