William "Bill" Hill

William “Bill” Hill, 60, of Boydton, Virginia passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2014. He was born on June 1, 1953 in Richmond, Virginia to the late Harry Lee Hill, Sr. and the late Mary Lou Owen Hill. He is survived by his wife, Janice Marie Hill, two sons, Kenneth Charles Hill of Skipwith, VA and William Christopher Hill of Skipwith, VA. He is also survived by two sisters, Daphne Dagenhart of North Chesterfield, VA and Hilda Bradberry of North Chesterfield, VA, numerous nieces and nephews and several devoted friends. He is predeceased by his parents, his grandparents, James Thomas and Polly Cooper Owen, one brother, Bubba Hill and one sister, Linda Swecker. Bill was retired from Dominion Virginia Power. He was a member and speaker for AA, a member of the Mecklenburg Dive Team, and a member of the Ruritan Club of Boydton. He was also a volunteer for Boydton Life Saving and Fire Department and a Little League Baseball coach. Bill was an avid sportsman, hunter, and Nascar enthusiast. He was a great husband, father, and friend. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 13, 2014 from 7 until 8:30 p.m. at Newcomb Allgood Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 14, 2014 at 12 p.m. at Boydton Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
