Gertie Harvell

Gertie Lenhart Harvell, 89, of Charlotte, NC passed away on May 3, 2014. She was born on June 16, 1924 in Chase City, VA to the late Guy and Lillian Lenhart. She is survived by her son Charles Harvell and his wife Janice of Florissant, CO and her daughter Peggy Williams and her husband Harry of Charlotte, NC, four grandchildren, Matt Harvell, David Harvell, Wendy Williams, and Christopher Williams and three great-grandchildren, Winston Harvell, Addison Harvell, and Hailey Ewell. She is also survived by two brothers, J.T. Lenhart, and N.J. Lenhart and numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband, Edison Harvell, one granddaughter, Missy Harvell and three brothers, James Lenhart, John Lenhart, and Bill Lenhart. Mrs. Harvell was a Supervisor at JonBil and the District Manager of the Cato Corporation. Gertie was a member of the Midwood Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School, served on the Hospitality Committee, and was President of the Fellowship Club. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at 2 p.m. at the Newcomb Allgood Funeral Home chapel. Interment will follow at Friendship United Methodist Church. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service.
