Raymond Crump

Raymond Sam Crump, age 93, of Chase City, Virginia passed away on Saturday, December 19, 2015. He was born on April 27, 1922 in Mecklenburg County, VA to the late Joseph and Martha Crump. Mr. Crump is survived by his wife, Rachael Davis Crump, two sons, Dexter Crump and his wife Linda of South Hill, VA and Baxter Crump and his wife Wanda of Evington, VA, five grandchildren, Bridget Sheppard, Holly Sava, Wendy Jones, C.D. Crump, and Misty Ezell, eight great-grandchildren, Stormy Jones, Sage Jones, Chase Ezell, Cole Ezell, Cullen Ezell, Kelby Crump, Kenzie Crump, and Keely Crump and numerous nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by one sister, Pauline and seven brothers, Harvey, Ernest, Charlie, Alan, Thermon, Walter, and James. Raymond is a World War II Army Veteran. He retired from Tucker-Bevell Motor Company. He is a member of Concord Baptist Church and a member of American Legion Post 43. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 21, 2015 at 2 p.m. at the Newcomb Allgood Funeral Home chapel. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Concord Baptist Church cemetery with military honors by American Legion Post 43. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Concord Baptist Church.
