Rosemary Newcomb

Rosemary Tharrington Newcomb, age 73, of Chase City, Virginia passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2016. She was born on September 4, 1942 in Charlotte County, Virginia to the late Floyd Brooks Tharrington, Jr. and the late Mae Travis Tharrington. Mrs. Newcomb is survived by her husband, Johnny A. Newcomb, three sons, Michael Wayne Newcomb and his wife, Kay of Petersburg, Jeffrey Scott Newcomb and his wife, Angela of Chase City and Mark Anthony Newcomb and his wife, Nikki of Chase City, eleven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers, Ronnie Tharrington and his wife, Elaine of Raleigh, NC and Reginald Tharrington and his wife, Jean of NC, numerous nieces and nephews, and her special friend, Lynn Straubinger. She is predeceased by her son, Bryant Kevin Newcomb. Rosemary is a member of Salem Christian Church. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 15, 2016 at 2 p.m. at the Newcomb Allgood Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at the Salem Christian Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Salem Christian Church.
