Janice Phillips Thompson, age 81, of Chase City, Virginia passed away on Monday, February 29, 2016. She was born on September 25, 1934 in Mecklenburg County, Virginia to the late Samuel R. Phillips and the late Pauline Lughford Phillps. Janice is survived by two sons, William Keith Dickenson of Red Oak and Brent Dickenson and his wife Mary Etta of Chase City, two daughters, Lisa Austin and her husband Richard of Brentwood, TN and Terri Ezell and her husband Andy of South Hill, eight grandchildren, Angie Dickenson, William Dickenson, Samantha Dickenson, Michelle Icenhour, Angi Griles, Timothy Lenhart, Madison Ezell, and Andrew Ezell and eleven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her twin sister, Joyce Phillips Owen of Chase City, three nieces, Pam Newcomb, Christy Lee, and Patricia McPeters, devoted caregiver, Deloris McFail and numerous friends. Mrs. Thompson is predeceased by her husband, Hugh Thompson and one sister, Nancy Phillips Jackson. Janice retired from Cross Country Distributors. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 from 6 until 8 p.m. at Newcomb Allgood Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the Newcomb Allgood Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery.
