Rebecca Adams

Rebecca Newton Adams, age 86, of Clarksville, VA passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2016. She was born on August 7, 1930 in Mecklenburg County, VA to the late Joseph Elmore Newton and the late Lelthie Puett Newton.

Mrs. Adams is survived by her husband, Willott Hardie Adams, two sons, Clint Fonda Mathenia of Clarksville and Barry Warren Adams and his wife, Lisa of Chase City, one daughter, Brenda Adams Lavagnino and her husband, Michael of Fredericksburg, five grandchildren, Amanda Center, Catherine Lavagnino, Michelle Lavagnino, Tonya Adams, and Brittany Cross, three step-grandchildren, Derrick Allgood, Samantha Roark and Tommy Moorefield and seven great-grandchildren, Bentleigh Cross, Wyatt Cross, Samantha Jo Center, Colin Center, Clayton Rickman, Olivia Adams and Brady West. She is also survived by one brother, Richard Newton and his wife, Nellie of Chase City, one sister, Edna Comer and her husband, Roger of Chase City and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one brother, Matthew Newton and two sisters, Evelyn Patterson and Jolene Bayne.

She was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church in Chase City and the Clarksville Ruritan Club.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 30, 2016 from 7 until 8:30 p.m. at Newcomb Allgood Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 31, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the Newcomb Allgood Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Crestview Memorial Park in La Crosse, VA.
