Hilda Tharpe

Hilda Newcomb Tharpe, age 75, of Blackstone, Virginia, formerly of Fort Mitchell, Virginia, passed away Friday, March 2, 2018. She was born March 29, 1942 in Charlotte County, Virginia to the late Edward W. Newcomb and the late Nellie Bailey Newcomb.

She was a member of Salem Christian Church, Fort Mitchell, VA.

She was predeceased by her parents and sister, Irma Newcomb Garner.

Hilda is survived by her son, James Ray Tharpe and wife, Amy; grandson, Cody Ray Tharpe; granddaughter, Chaley N. Turman; and brother, Lacy E. Newcomb and wife, Charlotte.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, March 4, 2018 at Salem Christian Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
