Avery Smith

Avery Lee Smith, age 63, of Chase City, VA, passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2018. He was born March 24, 1955 in Halifax County, VA and was the son of the late John Raymond Smith and the late Margaret Benfield Smith.

He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Ashley Brook Smith and sister, Kay Garnett.

Avery is survived by two sons, Jeremy Lee Smith and wife, Jennifer of Skipwith, VA and Christopher Dale Smith and wife, Jenna of Skipwith, VA and six grandchildren, Sydney Dawn Smith, Jeremy Austin Smith, Coby Dalton Smith, Christopher Dylan Smith, Joshua Dale Smith, and Megan Brook Smith. He is also survived by his brother, Jerry Smith and wife, Halo; sister, Judy Moore and husband, Eddie; brother-in-law, Peter Garnett; and nieces and nephews, Roy Moore, Curtis Moore, Tammy Brown, Casey Brown, Sherrie Carter, and Miranda Smith.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, June 8, 2018 at the home of Jeremy and Jennifer Smith.
