Preston Coleman

Preston Harrup Coleman, age 94, of Chase City, VA, passed away Thursday, July 12, 2018. He was born September 24, 1923 in Chase City, VA and was the son of the late Albert Mulligan Coleman and the late Telitha F. Smiley Coleman.

He was a World War II United States Air Force Veteran, a life member of the American Legion Post 43 and a member of VFW Post 8228. Preston was also a member of Salem United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by six brothers, Allen A. Coleman, James D. Coleman, Lewis R. Coleman, Charlie H. Coleman, Albert M. Coleman, Jr. and Thomas H. Coleman and three sisters, May Bell C. Nuchols, Louise C. Gregory, and Frances C. Gillispie.

Preston is survived by his sister-in-law, Bernie W. Coleman and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, July 15, 2018 at the Newcomb Allgood Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Woodland Cemetery in Chase City with Military Honors by the U.S. Air Force and American Legion Post 43. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service.
