Doris Brame

Doris Hawker Brame, age 86, of Chase City, VA passed away peacefully in the early hours of the morning on Thursday, July 26, 2018. She was born September 27, 1931 in Charlotte County, VA and was the daughter of the late Willie T. Hawker and the late Ella M. Hawker.

Doris lived a good life most of her 86 years until her struggle with dementia started. We’re sad she has left our lives but thankful for her struggle to be over.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Brame, Jr.; grandson, Matthew Brame; and brother, Shirley T. Hawker.

Doris is survived by her son, David W. Brame and wife, Beverly; daughter, Donna Brame Huffman; grandchildren, Jessica Brame, Jennifer Brame Boettigheimer and husband, Michael, Brice JW Harrington and wife, Maggie, and Lindsey Harrington; and great-grandchildren, Brianna Lara, Kai Martinez, Gabriel Mendez III, and Josephine Harrington. She is also survived by two sisters, Nancy Duke and husband, Ray and Linda Parker.

A graveside memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, October 12, 2018 at Woodland Cemetery.

Doris’ family would like to sincerely thank the caring staff at Ginter Hall South Assisted Living and Hospice of Virginia for being there for Doris in her final hours.
