Joyce Owen

Joyce Phillips Owen, age 84, of Chase City, VA passed away Saturday, April 20, 2019. She was born in Mecklenburg County, VA on September 25, 1934 and was the daughter of the late Samuel and Pauline Phillips.

She was the former Manager of Goodwill in Chase City.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Victor Rudolph Owen; daughter, Pamela Owen Newcomb; twin sister, Janice Phillips Thompson; and sister, Nancy Phillips Jackson.

Joyce is survived by her son-in-law, Scott Edward Newcomb of Chase City; grandchildren, Brian Edward Joines and wife, Shannon of Creedmoor, NC and Karen Newcomb DeSantis and husband, Anthony of Chase City; great-grandchildren, Morgan, Ethan, Brady, Owen, and Tatum; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at the Newcomb Allgood Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Woodland Cemetery in Chase City.
