Carrie Herndon

Carrie Lee Herndon, age 90, of Norlina, NC, formerly of Lunenburg County, VA passed away Monday, May 27, 2019. She was born in Mecklenburg County, VA on August 25, 1928 and was the daughter of the late George Washington Kizer and the late Etta Mae Blue Kizer.

She has been a member of Cool Springs Christian Church since 1946.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Tebe Newcomb and Bennie Herndon; son, Larry Newcomb; and eight brothers and sisters.

Carrie is survived by her daughter, Linda Rivers and husband, Charles of Norlina, NC; four grandchildren, Troy Lewis and wife, Crystal, Amy Lewis Hilliard and husband, Will, Larry Newcomb, Jr., and Tina Newcomb; and eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Carol Kizer and wife, Emmy of Clarksville, VA and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, June 1, 2019 at Cool Springs Christian Church. Inurnment will follow in the church cemetery.
