Thelma Owen Brankley, age 91, of Chase City, Va, passed away Monday, June 3, 2019. She was born on October 10, 1927 in Chase City, Va and was the daughter of the late Alford Sydnor Owen and the late Lona Delma Inge Owen.
She was the Bookkeeper for Owen’s Supply in Chase City for many years and a life-time member of First Baptist Church in Chase City.
Thelma was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, John Samuel Brankley.
She is survived by her daughters, Betsy Brankley Beam and husband, George of Forest, Va and Kathy Brankley Klee and husband, Buck of Chester, Va. She was blessed with seven grandchildren, Ashleigh Beam Karol and husband, Adam, Matthew Beam and wife, Rebecca, Adam Beam and wife, Hannah, Angie King Starnes and husband, Joel, Eric Klee, Brandon Klee and wife, Toni, and Kaleigh Klee, and eleven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Betty Leeson; numerous nieces and nephews; and her pastor and friend, Tom Cribb.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, June 7, 2019 at First Baptist Church with Dr. Tom Cribb officiating. Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery in Chase City. The family will receive family and friends at her home after the service.
