Anne Moss

Virginia Anne Spain Moss, 85, of Chase City, Virginia passed away on Monday, June 14, 2021. She was born on July 5, 1935 and was the daughter of the late Berkley Thomas Spain, Sr. and the late Virginia Lucille Inge Spain.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Wilber Moss.

Anne is survived by her brothers, Berkley Thomas Spain, Jr. of Chase City and Steve Randall Spain, Sr. (Gale) of LaCrosse; nephews, Steve Randall Spain, Jr., Christopher Ryan Spain, and Dr. Kirk Shulke (Ann); a great-niece, Mary Gale Spain; and her devoted caregiver and friend, Lois Bullock.

She was a Chase City High School Graduate (Class of 1952) and was a legal secretary for lawyers. She was a devoted member and officer of First Baptist Church in Chase City and very involved in the Women’s Missionary Union.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at Woodland Cemetery in Chase City with Dr. Tom Cribb officiating.
