Shirley Moore

Shirley Gregory Moore, 87, of Chase City, Virginia passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 3, 2021 with her children by her side after suffering a stroke on September 22, 2021. She was born on January 19, 1934 and was the daughter of the late John Grayson Gregory and the late Nora Harris Gregory. Shirley married Aubrey Moore and together they raised two sons and two daughters. She was a special MeMaw and loved spending time with her family and making sure everyone always had a full stomach.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Aubrey Moore; daughter, Janet Atkins; granddaughter, Megan Moore; brothers, John Gregory, Mason Gregory and Grayson Gregory; and her best friend, Peggy Reese McGinnis.

She is survived by her children, Gary Moore, Anne Barfield (Mike), and Jeff Moore; her grandchildren, Christy Deaton, Amanda Moore, Ashley Gee, Nikki Medina (Troy), Jake Moore (Elizabeth), Josh Moore (Janice), John Atkins (Katie), and Daniel Moore; great grandchildren, Kyrstin Deaton, Aubrey and Cole Medina, Everett and Brooks Moore, and Josh Jr. and Jace Moore. She is also survived by her special friend, Mildred Pugh; two daughters-in-law that always cared for her, Diane Moore and Kim Queensberry Moore; and her loving dog, Lucy.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m., Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at the Newcomb Allgood Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive family and friends following the service.
