Rosa Ferrell Ellington, age 88, of Chase City, Virginia passed away Wednesday, October 6, 2021. She was born May 22, 1933 in Charlotte County, Virginia and was the daughter of the late Richard and Creola Ferrell.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by seven brothers, one sister, and her grandson.
Rosa is survived by her four children, Jack Ellington (Cookie) of Blythe, GA, Donnie Ellington (Wanda) of South Boston, VA, Jimmy Ellington (Debbie) of Moseley, VA and Shelly Griffin (John) of Chase City, VA; twelve grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.
She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Skipwith, VA. She retired from Jonbil Manufacturing Company and was also a self-employed beauty consultant with Hazel Keller Cosmetics since 1979. Rosa loved her family dearly and she always put everyone else first. She appreciated and loved her gifts from her secret pals at New Hope Baptist Church. She loved watching TV, talking to and seeing people, and watching the birds eat and swing on the bird feeders outside. One of her favorite pastimes was playing BINGO.
The family would like to give a special thank you to all of the staff of Chase City Health and Rehab Center for their loving care for Rosa.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, October 10, 2021 at the Ferrell Family Cemetery in Saxe,VA with Reverend Mike Reynolds officiating.
