Edith Card

Edith Rickmond Card, age 94, of Wylliesburg, Virginia passed away on Tuesday, September 10, 2024. She was born April 18, 1930 in Scottsburg, Virginia and was the daughter of the late Henry Rickmond and the late Ann Francis Rickmond Salmon. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Card; brothers, Cecil Rickmond and Henry “Dick” Rickmond; and sister, Aro Overby.

Edith is survived by her two sons, Randy Card (Judy) of South Boston and Tony Card (Janet Newcomb) of Wylliesburg, Virginia; daughter-in-law, Deborah P. Card; grandchildren, Celeste Janson (Peter) and Jamie Card; two great-grandchildren, James Janson and Eric Janson; numerous nieces and nephews; and her special friends, Lillie Mae Tatum and Ida Osborne. 

Edith was a life long member of Wylliesburg Baptist Church. She retired from Burlington Mills in Drakes Branch. Edith was kind and never met a stranger. She loved to send cards and letters to all of her friends and family. 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 13, 2024 at Wylliesburg Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Bowen officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church.
