Gordon Barnette

Gordon Stanford Barnette, age 98, of Chase City, Virginia passed away Saturday, November 12, 2022. He was born July 19, 1924 in Kings Mountain, NC and was the son of the late Dallas Edmond Barnette and the late Laura Mae Falls Barnette. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Girleen B. Crump. 

Gordon is survived by his sister, Edith B. Gryder; aunt, Fannie Simmons; nieces and nephews, Sally McLaughlin (Scott), Betty Thomason, Hazel Owens (Joe), Juanita Murray (Marty), David Gryder (Katie), and John Gryder (Gail); several cousins, great-nieces, and great-nephews; and his special friend, Stan Betzold. 

He was a member of Concord Baptist Church. 

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at 2 p.m. at Concord Baptist Church, 11650 Highway 47, Chase City, VA 23924. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service in the church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Reverend Joe McDowell will officiate.
