Mary Lacks Dawson

Mary Lacks Dawson, 74, of Chase City, Virginia passed away Friday, August 2, 2024 at her home. She was born June 24, 1950 and was the daughter of the late Raymond Edward Lacks, Sr. and the late Charleen Rebecca Hatcher Lacks. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Wayne Dawson; son, Kevin Dawson; and brother, Raymond Edward Lacks, Jr.

Mary is survived by her daughter, Kathy Edmonds; daughter-in-law, Tiffany Dawson; grandchildren, Lea Edmonds, Jay Edmonds, Christian Dawson; sisters, Linda Carter, Margaret Flynn, and Anna Rogers; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Mary retired from Virginia Quilting and was a member of Mecklenburg Baptist Church. 

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, August 6, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Crestview Memorial Park, LaCrosse, Virginia. Brad Rogers will officiate.
