Rachel Crump

Rachel Davis Crump, 93, of Chase City, Virginia passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2023. She was born March 13, 1930 in Mecklenburg County, Virginia and was the daughter of the late William Alex Davis and the late Charlotte Wells Davis. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Sam Crump; sister, Marion Davis Jones; and brother, William Thomas “Buck” Davis. 

Rachel is survived by her sons, Calvin Dexter Crump (Linda) of LaCrosse, VA and Alvin Baxter Crump (Wanda) of Evington, VA; grandchildren, Wendy Jones (Joe), Misty Ezell (Brent), Calvin Crump, Jr. (Erica), Bridget Sheppard (Byrrl), and Holly Sava (Tudor); and great-grandchildren, Stormy and Sage Jones, Chase, Cole and Cullen Ezell, Kelby, Kenzie and Keely Crump, Hendrix Sheppard and Adrian Sava. She is also survived by her sister, Charlotte “Teenie” Orr (Gene) and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Rachel was a long time member of Concord Baptist Church and a former member of the Eastern Star in Chase City. She was a seamstress for Hampco Apparel in Chase City and an assistant beautician for Teenie’s Beauty Shop in Chase City. Rachel loved flowers and collecting Crystal glassware. 

Graveside services will be held on Sunday, July 23, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Concord Baptist Church Cemetery. Pastor Joe McDowell will officiate.
