Rachel Wilmoth

Rachel Ann Carter Wilmoth, 78, of Chase City, Virginia passed away Monday, September 25, 2023. She was born February 17, 1945 and was the daughter of the late Joseph Henry Carter and the late Mary Allgood Carter. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Wilmoth; sons, Jeff Mull and Phillip Wilmoth; sisters, Nellie Carter Allgood and Mary Alice Carter; and brothers, Henry Edward Carter and Robert Neal Carter. 

Rachel is survived by her children, Scott Mull (Gina), Jason Mull (Wendy), Gena Mull Gregory (Keith), and Tammy Webber (Phil); grandchildren, Cody Mull (Megan), Devon Coleman (Autumn Keatts), Hannah Mull, Carter Mull, Devin Gregory, Nick Gregory, and Dillon Webber; and her great-grandchildren, Grayson, McKinley and Layla Mull and Ronin and Romano Coleman. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Barbara Newcomb (Mike); special niece, Susan Allgood Tragesser; numerous nieces and nephews; special friend and cousin, Margaret Lenning; and special friend, Donna Gregory. 

Rachel was a life long member of Easter’s United Methodist Church. She was a former sales associate for Linda’s Treasures in South Hill and Assistant Manager for Goodwill in Chase City. She loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren that she adored. She enjoyed watching black and white westerns and she loved going to dances with her friend and dancing partner, Bobby Newcomb. Rachel was a very loving person with a great sense of humor. 

The family will receive family and friends on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Newcomb Allgood Funeral Home and all other times at Rachel’s Home, 3250 Old Cox Road, Chase City, VA 23924. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 28, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at the Newcomb Allgood Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Jody Robinson Jessup officiating. Interment will follow at Easter’s United Methodist Church Cemetery. A reception will follow the services at Easter’s Hunt Club.
