Sandra Thorpe

Sandra Lanyon Thorpe, 70, of Chase City, Virginia passed away Thursday, June 29, 2023. She was born January 2, 1953 and was the daughter of Gladys Jones Lanyon and the late Billy Lanyon. 

Sandra is survived by her husband, Kenneth Thorpe; mother, Gladys Lanyon; sister-in-law, Judy Townsend; brother-in-law, Terry Thorpe; several cousins; many friends; and her beloved cat, Yogi. The family would like to give a sincere thank you to her devoted caregiver and companion for the past 8 years, Bobbie Morris. 

She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. She spent many years as a caregiver and also had her own custom ceramic shop where she enjoyed making items such as animals, canisters, christmas trees, etc.

A graveside service will be held Sunday, July 2, 2023 at 2 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery, 9040 Trottinridge Road, Chase City, VA 23924. The family will receive friends following the service at the gravesite.
