Sarah Jane Carter Farrar, 72, of Chase City, Virginia passed away Friday, January 27, 2023. She was born September 11, 1950 and was the daughter of the late James Hubert “Pete” Carter and the late Mary Lee Card Carter. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bailey “Beetle” Farrar; grandson, Justin Farrar; brother, Jimmy Carter; and nephew, Scott Carter. 

Sarah is survived by her two sons, Gary Farrar (Stacy) and Danny Farrar (Kisha Barnes); seven grandchildren, Dustin Farrar, Alyssa Farrar, Makayla Farrar, Gabrielle Farrar, Gary Farrar, Jr., Kyah Farrar and Raleigh Farrar; and four great-grandchildren, Lane Farrar, Jayden Farrar, Kaleb Farrar, and Amye Fuller. She is also survived by her sister, Mary Francis Amos (Doug) of Drakes Branch; brother, Danny Carter (Susan) of Holly Springs, NC; nieces and nephews, Dora Lee Miller, Kim Owen, Andy Carter, and Ethan Carter; and her very close friends, Mattie Marable, John Hipps, Rick Blackwell, Tim Sherman, Roberta Morefield, Jack Lowrance, and John Mcclure. 

Sarah loved watching her favorite football team on Sundays, The Washington Commanders. She also really enjoyed watching game shows and soap operas. She was a strong woman and a hard worker. Sarah was a very special mother and she was one of a kind. 

Visitation will be held Monday, January 30, 2023 from 6 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at Newcomb Allgood Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at 2 p.m. at Woodland Cemetery in Chase City.
